Pricing Upgrade for Special Events

Just in case you do not see the recent LCRB Policy change – For those using Special Event Permits the maximum charges per liquor serving have been raised as below, in line with the general rise in liquor costs.

Given the rising cost of liquor, this much overdue update means that you can charge higher prices per serving at events without having to have the event designated as municipally, provincially or federally, significant.

Important Points:

1) The Policy takes effect on the 24 August 2026

2) Permits approved before 24 August for events on or after that date can increase the pricing above what the permit shows – You must have a copy of the bulletin with your Permit on site; and you may be liable for additional PST

3) Higher Drinks Prices potentially means Higher Margins – This also means higher PST charges on your profit element as part of the permit fee.
