Client Spotlight: The Fernie Taphouse

This week we’re shining the spotlight on The Fernie Taphouse ….a true Fernie institution with a history that runs deep.
From surviving the Great Fire of 1908, to its days as the Fernie Hotel and its famous bootlegger’s basement tunnels, this building has been part of Fernie’s story for generations.
In the 1990s, Simon and Wendy Howse took on the historic property and helped shape it into the Taphouse we know today. Through their vision, Parastone Developments and their many community projects, they’ve also played a major role in shaping Fernie.
A major renovation in 2019 brought another chapter to this iconic property.
Anderson Consulting has been proud to work alongside the Taphouse for years ,helping with upgrades, structural changes, staff training and all the little things that come with running a successful hospitality business.
And yes… staff training is one of our favourite parts! 😄 There’s always plenty of fun and laughter with this crew.
What really stands out, though, is their commitment to community. From local sports and Griz Days to the Festival of Trees, Coal Creek Heritage Society, Fernie Trails & Touring Club, Elk Valley Dolphins, Movember and countless other local causes, the Taphouse gives back to the community it calls home.
Great food. BC craft beer. A fantastic sports-bar atmosphere. And a whole lot of Fernie spirit. 🍻
We’re incredibly proud of this partnership and grateful to Simon, Wendy, Dave Hunt, Alicia Dennis and the entire Taphouse team for trusting Anderson Consulting to be part of their journey.
Great people. Great food. Great community. ❤️
