Graeme Anderson Consulting Licensing and Design Services

Licensing and design services to meet the needs of a diverse and vibrant tourism culture nestled in the Canadian Rockies.

We are often asked how I came to offer our specific licensing and design services. In all honesty, it has something that has grown and developed over time; and comes from identified needs in our environment.
When Graeme first went to work in the Government liquor sector, his role was specifically tailored for the Southern Interior of BC and the Kootenays in particular. His remit was to engage with industry and other stakeholders; identify issues, and work with licensees and businesses to bring them into voluntary compliance through education and building relationships. He very much enjoyed this approach and quickly learned about providing the best support for the industry by promoting and sharing best practices and educating business owners and their staff on how to grow and develop their business while remaining compliant with the many requirements for the licensed sector.

He later undertook specific projects that were specifically designed to support the liquor manufacturing and cannabis retail sectors. While compliance and enforcement were very much part of that role, Graeme found it easy to utilize the relationship-building and information-sharing skills brought from Policing in Northern Ireland to his new role. This kept the need for enforcement to a minimum and provided a great opportunity to support the industry within the Interior.

In addition, Graeme quickly learned that the needs and common challenges of the Interior industry and Kootenays were different to those found in the larger centres and the lower mainland. He then tailored his approach accordingly – a factor that won him much support from his clients and stakeholders.

This, in turn, highlighted the need for the type of support Graeme and his then colleagues provided to the industry, especially as the Government LCRB changed direction towards more Compliance and Enforcement based activities combined with administrative inspections and moved away from the more education focussed approach to securing voluntary compliance.

Expanded services to meet a growing need

During this time, Noelene became involved in helping a close friend with designing the interiors of locally-owned vacation rentals. Noelene easily transferred her knowledge of design and use of colour to this particular arena, quickly striking the particular balance required for vacation rental properties that must remain fresh and appealing to the visitors while also having a particularly durable and robust finish that will last.

Having contracted the construction of their own home; Noelene and Graeme also developed a network of reliable trades and suppliers, who have proved invaluable in this aspect of their business; a factor that greatly benefited Noelene during the design and finishing of the 4 most recent additions to the Residences on Fairmont Ridge – A four Plex which Noelene designed and managed from dry wall out.

In addition to licensing, design services have grown and developed as the need and demand for new and upgraded vacation rentals have increased locally and further afield. It’s a need in our communities that can be addressed by the unique skill sets Graeme and Noelene can bring to the table.

We very much look forward to the opportunity to meet and work with you in support of your own business ventures. We find the passion and excitement of those we work with very infectious and very much enjoy bringing our own enthusiasm to your project!
