Helping you through security planning and the large event licencing process
Large events with liquor service in BC are most often staged by community-based volunteer groups and non-profit societies. The events themselves normally serve as fundraising activities that benefit those communities.
We have a broad cross-section of experience upon which we can draw in order to support your event, including liquor licensing and security planning. We draw from personal experience in staging these types of events, assessing any risk, and building safety and security strategies tailored for each event. Our additional experience in policing very large sites also provides benefits in the planning process for your event.
In British Columbia, the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) assesses and reviews all large events (over 500 people) that intend to provide liquor service. Approval for these events is secured by applying for a Special Event Permit.
Some large events are dedicated to the liquor industry and take the form of beer and wine ‘festivals’. We draw on Graeme’s particular experience in this sector, where he conducted an LCRB project to streamline and improve policies around marketing practices within the Liquor Manufacturing Sector; and those of Licensed Liquor Agents.
We can assist you with the following in support of your large event:
- Event permit application
- Planning your Event as regards Liquor and Security Compliance
